Campaign Diary: Tales of Meras, Session 161
First post on this campaign diary, and I'm already late. This session (S161) happened almost two weeks ago now. To make things clean, I will still write some short description about what happened back then, to make next session's post easier to write as well.
Well then...
At the start of the session, the group (Zakesh, Ialind, Tod, Formaggio and Ulrich), together with almost ALL the important NPCs my players adopted until now and another NPC party named "The Six Elements", were finishing up some roleplays at a party they made to celebrate a successful quest, on their floating island: exploring parts of a Mega Dungeon and clearing up two immensely powerful creatures that were making some monsters appear in levels where they shouldn't (essentially, in game, it was a Boss Rush).
They talked a lot with other NPCs... Ialind and Zakesh made out with some Harpies they met at the dungeon and followed them back up there (which gave me opportunity to test some of the GURPS Social Engineering rules)... and the night was basically over.
The next day (Sextum, 13), Tod and Ulrich organized themselves with equipment, bought paper, blank grimoires and stuff for their next adventures (Tod is planning on writing a book, and Ulrich also needed some writing equipment for spells).
On the day after that (Sextum, 14), they were woke up by the Red Orbinitrum, a flying golem sphere that would act as their quest giver from now on (at this point of the campaign, the party assumed a position in the government of Cedasea (the magocratic country they work for) akin to the Avengers or the Justice League, named "The Order of the Spark", and the government in question sent the golem as their means of communication with the group). The Orbinitrum notified them of a big parade they were required to participate in, where their "super-hero" group would be officially announced by those in power.
There were some more interactions, mostly related to the parade and the players noticing and commenting on the several levels of nationalism rising within the nation's elites and the preparations for war against the forces (a dragon, big) that recently demolished their old capital city. After the parade, the session was basically over.
I imagine most of the stuff I said here will probably look like absolute gibberish for anyone without proper knowledge of what happened in the last one hundred and sixty sessions. And that is alright. Eventually, with my summary of those events done, and a little gazetteer about the setting, I hope things will become less confusing.
That’s it about Session 161. See you again next week with Session 162, where I hope we can progress a little quicker with the story.
